Filmmaker and actor Neeraj Vora dies at the age of 54

Mumbai: Bollywood actor, writer and filmmaker Neeraj Vora, who was in coma for almost a year, passed away on Thursday morning. He was 54. Ashok Pandit confirmed the news to a news website and said: “Neeraj Vora died today at 3 am in Criti Care hospital in Juhu. He had been in coma and living at Firoz Nadiadwala’s place. When his condition deteriorated in the night, he was taken to the hospital, where he breathed his last.”

In 2016, Neeraj suffered a heart attack followed by a stroke, post which he went into coma. He was cremated on Thursday at 3 pm in Santacruz.

Neeraj began his career as a writer for TV show Circus in the 90s which also starred Shah Rukh Khan. The multi-faceted artist also dabbled in acting. In 1995 film Rangeela, he made his debut as a writer and also acted in the film. He went onto work in films like Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, Akele Hum Akele Tum, Virasat, Mann, Satya, Mast, Pukar and Company.

His last film as an actor was Welcome Back (2015). Last year, he had announced Hera Pheri 3. He had begun the process of making the film when he suffered the heart attack.
