Undisclosed Income Worth Rs 235 Cr Unearthed

An undisclosed income amounting to Rs 235 crore has been detected by the Income Tax Department in the state for the financial year 2008-09.

Raids were conducted and 104 surveys carried out during the financial year 2008-09, said the Director-General (Investigations) for Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, Brajesh Gupta in Indore.

Gupta said that an undisclosed income worth Rs 234.76 crore was detected during this period, apart from cash and jewellery worth Rs. 14.20 crore in black money.

He said that undisclosed income during 2008-09 in the two states had risen by 152 per cent as compared to the previous financial year.

Gupta said during 2008-09, undisclosed income for Rs 38.11 crore was detected in the Rauipur region and Rs 29.53 crore in the Bhopal area.
