Chief Minister  Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the area under irrigation is being increased in the state. Through various irrigation schemes, water will be supplied to every farm and to every household through Jal-Jeevan Mission. Bahoriband Lift Micro Irrigation Project worth Rs 1011 crore has been approved for Katni area. The Bahoriband lift micro-irrigation project will irrigate 80,000 acres and provide water to 5 villages of Katni tehsil, 86 of Bahoriband, 17 of Rithi and 43 villages of Slimnabad. Through Jal-Jeevan Mission, 109 villages of Rithi Janpad in Katni district, 50 villages of Katni Janpad, along with 159 villages in Pathari area of Katni district, will now easily be provided with tap water in every house.

Major announcements made by CM Chouhan

Sub tehsil will be created in Badgaon. Panumariya Nagar Panchayat is being constituted.

Faculty of Science will be started in Higher Secondary School, Bargaon. A new building of Higher Secondary School, Bakal, will be constructed.

Revenue Inspector Board will be formed in Bachhaiya village of Bahoriband tehsil.School in Parsel will be upgraded

Chief Minister  Chouhan was addressing a large public gathering in the Vikas Parv at Bargaon in Katni district today. He performed bhoomi-pujan for development works worth more than Rs 313 crore in the area. Benefits were also distributed to the beneficiaries of various schemes. Chief Minister  Chouhan made several announcements for the development of the area.

Chief Minister  Chouhan said that we are one big family. The state is run by the family not the government. Just as the interests of every member in a family is taken care of, similarly works are being done for the welfare of every person in the state. The amount of Samman Nidhi, which poor farmer brothers get in a year, has been hiked to Rs 12,000. The poor are getting 5 kg free ration every month. In the Ayushman Yojana, there is a system of free treatment up to Rs. 5 lakh in a year.

Chief Minister  Chouhan said that the previous governments had stopped many public welfare schemes. By making false promise of loan waiver to the farmers, they were made defaulters. Our government has made them debt free by paying their interest of Rs. 2200 crore and they are being given crop loans at zero percent interest. The previous government stopped Sambal and Teerth Yatra and did not give funds for Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah/Nikah Yojana. Our government restarted all the schemes. Now elders are being taken on pilgrimage by aeroplane also.

Chief Minister  Chouhan said that I will not let money become a hurdle in the education of children. They will be given books, uniforms, bicycles, laptops and now toppers will also be given scooties. The government will also pay the fees for higher education of meritorious students.
