A three-day conference on fact-based social and economic development is being held in the capital Bhopal. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan addressed the program virtually on the second day. CM said, life is not possible without data. Data has become the source of knowledge. Today all important decisions are taken on the basis of data. Ladli Brahmin Yojana is an example of this, in which money was deposited two days ago and today the result is that one thousand rupees have been deposited in the accounts of more than one crore thirty lakh sisters. Reliability of data is also important. Scientific method should also be included in its preparation. It plays a big role in the formulation and implementation of policies and plans and the benefits derived from them.

CM Chauhan said that different institutions have a role in making the data delivery system successful. The data also indicate changes in policies and plans. The work of the Institute of Good Governance and the NITI Aayog of the state is commendable. Describing the role of data as important in making policies effective, CM Chouhan said that there should be no slack in preparing reliable statistics.

Attended virtually due to ill health

In the presence of Principal Secretary Raghavendra Singh and Mukesh Gupta from CM residence, CM Chouhan said that he wanted to reach this program directly but could not come due to health reasons. Minister of Public Service Management and Planning Statistics Department Arvind Bhadauria and Vice President of Good Governance School Sachin Chaturvedi were also present in this program. Representatives of many renowned institutions of the country also participated in this program.

Offer to establish a new center

Vice President of Atal Bihari Good Governance School, Sachin Chaturvedi said, the Central Government has decided that no scheme will be implemented which has not been third party evaluation. Therefore, we have to start such courses which are ready for impact and evaluation. Chaturvedi said the Institute of Good Governance has offered to set up a new center that will evaluate government schemes and assess their social impact. Deepak Sethia of IIM Indore and other big institutions of the country have an important role in this. Referring to the impact and evaluation of Ladli Brahmin Scheme before starting it in the state, he said that the scheme has been started after its accurate results emerge. In the coming days, the role of data will be kept in mind in formulating such policies in new schemes also.
