Sehwag took Delhi to top spot

PUNE: Sehwag take Delhi Daredevils to top spot with his blistering batting. With little support form Jayawardene and Petersen He won the game single handedly for Delhi. He made 86 runs in 48 balls with 10 fours and two sixes.

Delhi requiring 147 runs to win achieved the target with four overs remaining.

Pune Warriors won the toss and elected to bat. They lost two wickets early with score board showing just one run.

Robin and Pandey batted beautifully and added 145 runs for the third wicket. Pandey made swashbucling 80 runs in just 56 balls with 3 sixes.

But due to slow batting of Uthappa Pune does not able to make a big score which proves to be very costly for them in the end.

Delhi bowlers bowed accurately and economically. Irfan took one wicket for only 24 runs in his four overs.

Delhi Daredevils 148 for 2 (Sehwag 87*)

Ganguly: “We lost a couple of wickets early, we didn’t get enough runs, it’s a good wicket, not a big ground, so 170-180would be a par score. We were under six an over for about 13 overs and the got some runs in the end.”

Sehwag: “They recovered well, but they couldn’t get past 150, which is chase-able. Good to be top of the table, all because of my bowlers, they did a fantastic job.”
