Vice Chancellor in MP will now be called Kulguru: Decision taken in Mohan Yadav cabinet meeting; New excise policy also approved

The name of the post of Vice Chancellor in universities in Madhya Pradesh will now be Kulguru . This decision, about one and a quarter years old, was approved by the cabinet of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Tuesday. Along with this, the new excise policy for the next financial year has also been approved. The cabinet also discussed the supplementary budget and interim budget (Vote on Account) to be presented in the Assembly tomorrow along with many other topics.

The Cabinet has approved the new excise policy for the next financial year 2024-25. Under this, liquor shops will be auctioned this time at 15% more than the last contract price. The shops will be re-allocated only when 75% of the total shops are ready for renewal by the contractors of the liquor shops. If this does not happen then the liquor shops will be auctioned again. Apart from this, the distance of religious places and educational places and liquor shops will remain fixed as before.

The Cabinet has approved the proposal for the Universities Amendment Act. The Vice Chancellor of the University will now be called Kulguru . Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav had taken this decision in the meeting held on December 8, 2022, when he was the Higher Education Minister in the Shivraj government. It was then decided that the name of the post of Chief Vice Chancellor of Universities would be changed. After getting the consent of Governor Mangubhai Patel on the decision, he had said that people make fun of the name of Vice Chancellor, hence according to the culture of our country which respects the teachers, now the name of the Vice Chancellor will be changed to Kulguru. Soon the proposal will be brought in the cabinet and it will be approved. However, this decision could not be implemented at that time and due to the proposal not coming to the cabinet for a year and a quarter, it could not be converted into an order.

After the cabinet meeting today, Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silavat informed about the decisions of the cabinet.

The budget session of the sixteenth assembly is going to start from Wednesday. In this session, the government is going to bring supplementary budget for the financial expenditure of the months of February and March. The supplementary budget has been approved in the cabinet meeting. Apart from this, the cabinet has also approved the upcoming interim budget for income and expenditure from April to July.

Along with this, it has been decided in the cabinet that like every year, this time also loans will be given to farmers at zero percent interest rate. Along with this, a decision was also taken to start a helpline service by the Child Protection Unit in the state.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, in his address before the meeting of the Council of Ministers, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is coming to Jhabua on 11 February. A grand event will be organized there to pledge to start the work of development and public welfare done by our and former Chief Minister Chouhan’s government in the tribal areas in a bigger form in the golden period of independence.

The Chief Minister said that Vote on Account is about to come, through which we will decide the road map for the future. According to the guidelines given by the Prime Minister regarding the expansion of Ayurvedic, Homeopathy and Naturopathy medical facilities in tribal areas, the scheme will be implemented through the AYUSH Department.
