CM will work to bring the backward classes to the main stream

BHOPAL: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that State Government is committed to bringing forward those who have lagged behind in the race of development.

He announced it while addressing the function of state-level Ramji Mahajan Backward Class Service Awards here on Sunday

The function was presided over by MP Prabhat Jha. 16 social workers were conferred with Ramji Mahajan Backward Class Service Awards.

He said MP should be placed in the first row of developed states. He also said that the State goverment has implemented most of the recommendations of backward commission.The MP has created record in the wheat procurement.Scholarships are being given to 35 Lac backward class students.Talented students will be provided scholarships to study in foreign countries.Policies being chalked out to give land to dharmsalas and hostels.

Backward Classes’ Welfare Minister Ajay Vishnoi said that the budget for scholarships to students of backward classes has gone up to Rs. 400 crore from Rs. 200 crore during the last two years.

At the programme, backward class students securing top three positions in P.E.T., P.P.T. and M.P.A. exams and those selected in State Public Service Commission, MLAs and various sections of backward classes were also honoured.
