Madhya Pradesh visit was like a pilgrimage: Thinley

Bhopal: I completed a pilgrimage by participating in the foundation laying ceremony of Sanchi Buddhist and Indic Studies University. Bhutanese Prime Minister Shri Jigme Y. Thinley said this at the old terminal of Raja Bhoj airport before leaving for his country after a two-day Madhya Pradesh visit here today. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan accorded a touching farewell to Prime Minister Shri Thinley. Home Minister Shri Umashankar Gupta and Culture Minister Shri Laxmikant Sharma were also present on the occasion.

After participating in the foundation laying ceremony of Buddhist and Indic Studies University at Sanchi (Raisen), Bhutanese Prime Minister Shri Thinley reached Raja Bhoj airport at 5.25 pm. During discussions with Chief Minister Shri Chouhan, Prime Minister Shri Thinley said that he has accomplished a pilgrimage by visiting Lord Buddha’s world famous place Sanchi.

Bhutanese Prime Minister Shri Thinley left for his country by a special Indian Air Force plane at 5.40 pm. Prominent among those who accorded farewell to the Bhutanese Prime Minister included Chief Secretary Shri R. Parasuram, Additional Chief Secretary Shri Antony J.C. D’sa, Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Vivek Agrawal, ADGP Shri Vijay Yadav, IG Smt. Asha Mathur, collector Shri Nikunj Shrivastava and SSP Shri Yogesh Choudhary.
