Shivraj Singh Chouhan takes a dig at Arvind Kejriwal’s series of apologies

BHOPAL: Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan seems amused with his Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal going on a “I regret, I hurt you” apology spree. As news of Delhi chief minister Kejriwal and Union minister Nitin Gadkari’s joint application for withdrawal of a defamation suit spread through the country, Chouhan took a dig through a tweet.
The Madhya Pradesh chief minister tweeted at around 3:30 pm, in which he said, “Arvindji, meri salah mane toh ek list bana lijiye, bari-bari se sabse maafi maangne mein asani hogi. Ya phir, ek maafinama taiyyar karwa lijiye: “To whosoever it may concern”. (Arvindji, take my advice and make a list, it will be easier for you to apologise to persons one-after-another. Alternatively, get an apology memorandum prepared: “To whosoever it may concern”).
The tweet the chief minister’s official account @Chouhan Shivraj received a whopping 444 replies, 2.2 K retweets and 5.8K likes in the next three-and-half hours. Chouhan’s tweet comes after Kejriwal first apologised to Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh on March 15, then BJP leader Nitin Gadkari, Congress leader Kapil Sibal and his son on Monday.
He apologised to Majithia for his allegations on the Shiromani leader that he was part of a drug trade. Then he wrote a letter to Nitin Gadkari saying, “I made certain statements, without regard to its verifiability, which seem to have hurt you. I have nothing personal against you. I regret the same. Let us put the incident behind us and bring the court proceedings to a closure.” After Gadkari, he sent another letter of apology to Congress leader Kapil Sibal and his son Amit Sibal.
Why is Chouhan taking a dig at Kejriwal? Because in November addressing a rally here, the Delhi chief minister has raised the Vyapam issue and levelled corruption charges against him. Kejriwal had said, “Shivraj has sucked Madhya Pradesh like a mango.”
