Democracy is for welfare of people

BHOPAL: While addressing a felicitation function organised by Madhya Pradesh Panchayat Sachiv Sangathan here on Tuesday Chief Minister Chouhan said that democratic set-up is meant for the welfare and development of common people. He said Panchayat Secretaries should ensure smooth implementation of welfare schemes in villages.

He also said that there should be a spirit of sensitivity towards delivery of service. Every child in the village should go to school. The Panchayat Secretaries should work dedicatedly and honestly and do rural development works implementation in a better way.

Villages should be free of addiction.The awareness towards Beti Bachao Abhiyan should be made by Panchayat Secretaries. The poor should get their due rights and conditions of their living should be improved.

He promised that Power will be made available for 24 hours in every village from the next year and the conditions of the road will also be improved. He said Piped water schemes for drinking water arrangements in villages will also be started. For taking strict action against corruption he is in favour of Special Courts.

Panchayats & Rural Development Minister Gopal Bhargava while addressing the function,said that the role of Panchayat Secretaries isvery inportant in rural development. he said that State Government will provide protection and security to them and try to reduce their problems.

He encouraged them to get the works under Panch Parmeshwar Yojna and construction of school buildings executed within the prescribed time-limit.

He said that Panchayat Secretaries should try to ensure quality in the works under Mukhyamantri Aawas Mission, Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojna etc.

The welcome address was delivered by president of Madhya Pradesh Panchayat Sachiv Sangathan Dinesh Sharma. Panchayat Secretaries invited from various all over the state were present on the occasion.The Minister of State for Panchayats & Rural Development Dev Singh Sayyam was especially present on the occasion.
