New stadiums to be constructed
BHOPAL: The meeting for the reviewing the activities of Sports and Youth Welfare Department has took place at Mantralaya on Wednesday.
In the meeting Chief minister instructed to explore the possibilities of construction of new stadiums and mini stadiums.
He also informs that about eight thousand 296 play grounds have been sanctioned in the state under the Panchayat Yuva Kreeda Evam Khel Abhiyan (PYKKA).
Nine thousand seventy nine stadiums have been completed so far and the works for rest are going on. He said that special efforts are being made to promote the sport in the country.
He wants to select sport at the district level according to the popularity. The sports material according to requirement will be provided to gram Panchayats.
In the meeting Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Tukojirao Puar, Chief Secretary R. Parasuram, Principal Secretary to CM Manoj Shrivastava, Secretary Sports and Youth Welfare Ashok Shah and other senior officers were present.
