Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has directed divisional commissioners, collectors and superintendents of police to undertake field tours, hold direct dialogue with people and solve their problems with utmost sensitiveness. He said that public servants of all the three ranks as well as members of the cabinet form Team Madhya Pradesh. The team is brimming with energy and experience is capable of bringing about development and change in entire state. The Chief Minister was concluding three-day commissioner-collector conference here today.

Shri Chouhan said that people should have unflinching faith in administration. For this, officers should development spirit of public service and be sensitive towards public issues. He directed to fix time for meeting common people. They have found novel opportunity to serve people and must not go it waste. They should work with enthusiasm, honesty and fearlessness. Tours should be undertaken to know ground realities, constant watch should be maintained over development programmes’ implementation and lacunae should be removed immediately, he added.

Shri Chouhan said that the government and administrative machinery is meant to people’s welfare. He exhorted officers to think about people’s prosperity and take innovative initiatives in their interest. He said that there is no meaning of development by ignoring the poor. He directed to chalk out an action plan for withdrawal of petty forest crimes against tribals.

Shri Chouhan said that there is no alternative to hard work and ensuring public interest works with enthusiasm and pleasure. Quoting Swami Vivekananda, the Chief Minister said that one collector and one SP can bring about positive change in entire district. For this, they need to give their best performance with dedication, strong commitment and obsession. Explaining a Shloka of Bhagwat Gita, he said that it is necessary for an able administrator to be energetic, egoless, enthusiastic, impartial and patient in both success and failure.

The Chief Minister said that they have found an opportunity to do something as public servants. He said that collectors and superintendents of police can bring about a big revolution in districts by working unitedly in public interest. They can make Madhya Pradesh a Model State. The Chief Minister said that police force will be increased. Activities like Naxalism, dacoity should be nipped in the bud. Citing Balaghat district administration’s initiative, he said that this is possible with the cooperation of people and communities. He said that strict action should be taken against those who malign tradition of communal harmony in the state. Intelligence should be intensified further and anti-peace forces should be hunted out. Appropriate pre-assessment of untoward incidents should be made and preventive steps taken. He said that selected crimes have been controlled due to police administration’s alertness.

Regarding control over corruption, Shri Chouhan directed collectors and commissioners to make optimum use of information technology-based initiatives for effective prevention of corruption.

Referring to Panch Parmeshwar Yojna, Maryada Abhiyan, Mukhyamantri Road Development Scheme and other innovative initiatives, Shri Chouhan that these should implemented in time for the benefit of people. He said that each collector should take responsibility of administrative functioning of one hospital and each divisional commissioner on medical institution.

Ministers, cabinet members, Chief Secretary Shri R. Parasuram and Principal Secretaries of all the departments were present on the occasion.
