Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh leave for London hand in hand and with big smiles

Newly married stars Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone flew to London late Tuesday where they will unveil her wax statue at the Madame Tussauds museum. Ranveer drove Deepika to the Mumbai airport where the duo was spotted leaving for London. The couple could not let go of each other’s hands at the airport. While Ranveer is still rocking the rapper vibe, Deepika wore an orange track suit.

Both Ranveer and Deepika are at a career high – while Deepika is one of the most bankable female actors with films like Padmaavat, Ranveer also continues to prove his mettle, the latest example being Gully Boy. Both Deepika and Ranveer are at a stage at which they are being appreciated by critics and are also proving to be profitable bets for their producers at the box office.

Recalling the moment when he won the Filmfare Best Actor award for playing Peshwa Bajirao in the 2015 film Bajirao Mastani, Ranveer had told the media, “That was the most magical night. Deepika, my wife, won on the same night for Piku, so to win with her in the same year was very special for me, special for our whole family who were present there. Rekha ji gave me the award and you know who was sitting in the first row? The man I wanted to be growing up, Amitabh Bachchan. I could not ask for more. I was an absolutely unforgettable moment and it’s etched in my mind, my heart forever and ever.”

On the work front, Ranveer is currently training for Kabir Khan’s next film titled ‘83 under the guidance of Kapil Dev and Balwinder Singh Sandhu. He will play Kapil in the film that revolves around India’s first cricket World Cup win in 1983. Deepika is working on Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak in which she will essay the role of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal.
