State Govt Decides to Allot Land for CGD Projects

The state cabinet has decided to allot government land worth Rs five crore as five per cent share capital for establishing City Gas Distribution (CGD) centres at Indore, Ujjain and Gwalior, said media reports.

Indore-based Avantika Gas has submitted the proposal to set up CGD projects in the state.

An official spokesperson said that the project would come up in Indore in the first phase and then would be followed in Ujjain and Gwalior in the second phase, reports said.

Under the project, Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) will be supplied for the transport sector and Piped Natural Gas (PNG) will be distributed for domestic use.

For Indore project, gas is to be received from Jagoti-Pithampur gas pipeline.

Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department will make five per cent share capital on behalf of the state government.

A respresentative of the government will also be nominated to the Board of Directors of Avantika Gas.

The company’s authorised capital is Rs 100 crore.
