Wheat procurement to be declared essential service in MP

Bhopal: The State Government has prohibited refusal to work by scientific, technical executives, operative and ministerial personnel connected with fair price shop, procurement under public distribution system of food grains and other essential commodities under Madhya Pradesh Essential Service Maintenance Act. This prohibition will be effective for next three months.
The State Government has taken this decision in public interest in view of information given by a section of employees of cooperative societies in the state about going on strike from March 17, 2013, so that wheat procurement process continues smoothly.
Notification to this effect along with directives has been sent for necessary action to all collectors, divisional commissioners and procurement agencies in the state.
It is noteworthy that Madhya Pradesh government is starting Rabi wheat procurement for year 2013 from March 18, 2013 in Ujjain, Bhopal, Indore and Narmadapuram divisions and remaining divisions Chambal, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Shahdol, Rewa and Sagar from March 25, 2013. All is set for procurement in districts of Madhya Pradesh.
Under the Act, it is prohibited for any individual or group to refuse to perform duty for services declared essential under the Act, stopping work fully or partially, or bid to destroy or cause damage to any building, machine, vehicle, plant, property etc. Similarly, going on leave without prior permission or remaining absent from any duty or forcing any employee to report on duty will also be prohibited. Under the provision, there will be ban on tool down, telephone, pen down strike, chakka jam, go-slow strike also.
