Tendukheda Records 69% Polling, No Voting at 41 Booths

Bhopal:  69 per cent voting has been recorded in the rain-hit Tendukheda Assembly seat in Narsinghpur district while 55.28 per cent voters exercised their franchise in the Gohad Assembly segment of Bhind district in Madhya Pradesh. By Polls for the two seats were held on Thursday.

The figures were declared by the state Election Office on Friday.

“Tendukheda recorded 69 per cent polling while in Gohad it was 55.28 per cent,” said Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Sanjay Dube.

Poll activity could not be held at 41 booths in Tendukheda, as designated teams failed to reach areas due to incessant rains.

The Election Commission will take a decision on holding polls in these booths soon, Dube said.

If polling for the 41 booths is not held before September 14, then counting of votes for the constituency may be deferred, he added.

In Tendukheda, the primary contest is between Vishwanath Patel of the Congress and the Bhaiyaram Patel of the BJP.

In Gohad, Ranveer Singh Jatav of the Congress and Sobran Singh Jatav of the BJP are the main contenders.
