State to Have Seven Lady Mayors, Bhopal Reserved
Bhopal — First citizens in seven cities across Madhya Pradesh, including the state capital Bhopal, will now be ladies. The seats were reserved for the fairer gender by a draw held in the state capital on Monday.
While female contestants from the general category will fray in Bhopal, Khandwa, Burhanpur and Katni the Sagar Mayoral position is reserved for lady contestants from the scheduled castes. Women from the OBC category will contest the Dewas and Gwalior Mayoral seats.
SC male contestants will contend for the Ujjain Mayoral seat, OBC male contestants will battle it out for the Jabalpur and Rewa segments.
Mayoral positions in Indore, Satna, Ratlam and Sidhi remain unreserved.
