State Govt. to extend maximum cooperation at this hour of crisis: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has directed to send a team of 7 senior officers led by Public Relations and Culture Minister Shri Laxmikant Sharma to bring back safely Madhya Pradesh’s people stranded in Uttarakhand and ensure relief and rescue operations there. The 7-member team will leave for Uttarakhand by a special plane on the morning of June 20. The team also comprises doctors. The team will set up control room for Madhya Pradesh’s people at Haridwar and extend every possible assistance to them for retuning to home.

The team comprises senior IAS officer Shri Sanjay Goyal (Mob. No. 0719007400), senior IPS officer Shri Pramod Verma (Mob. No. 09752271777), Shri Umashankar Bhargava ((Mob. No. 09425168757), tahsildar Shri Chandrashekhar Shrivastava (Mob. No. 09425493131), Company Commander Shri Ranjit Rathore and Personal Assistant to Public Relations Minister Shri Dighendra Bhargava (Mob. No 09425026197). After reviewing updated information received from Uttarakhand at the emergency meeting, the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan decided to send a special team. He held discussions with Uttarakhand Chief Minister over telephone and sought information of latest situation. Expressing solidarity with affected people, Shri Chouhan said that the State Government will extend every possible cooperation at this hour of crisis. It may be mentioned that Rs. 5 crore assistance has been provided to Uttarakhand government for relief and rescue works in compliance of Chief Minister Shri Chouhan’s announcement.
Shri Chouhan has appealed to relatives of devotees from Madhya Pradesh who have gone to Uttarakhand for pilgrimage to have patience assuring that Madhya Pradesh government will leave no stone unturned in bringing the pilgrims back safely. All necessary arrangements are being made for this. It is being informed that about 3 thousand pilgrims are in Uttarakhand from Madhya Pradesh.
The Chief Minister also directed to consider possibility to provide private helicopters if required. At present, 29 helicopters have been deployed for relief and rescue works in Uttarakhand. Food to affected persons is being supplied on priority.
Madhya Pradesh team will remain in touch with local administration and disaster management teams. The Chief Minister directed to set up temporary camps for affected persons of the state at Gayatri Peeth, Patanjali Peeth and other places. The Chief Minister held discussions with Shri Pranav Pandya of Gayatri Peeth and Baba Ramdev of Patanjali Peeth and urged them to extend every possible assistance to affected persons.
A control room has been set up for helping affected people of Madhya Pradesh. Its telephone number is 0755-2556422. According to reports, all 40 pilgrims having gone to Uttarakhand through Top Travels, Indore are safe. Twenty pilgrims from Hatakpuri, Chanderi are also safe. District Commandant Shri Santosh Jat is the control room in-charge whose mobile number is 09926769808. The Chief Minister directed to increase number of telephones for assistance and giving information to pilgrims’ relatives.
Following the emergency meeting, the Chief Secretary held discussions with his Uttarakhand counterpart. He directed to coordinate with Bhopal-based ADG Disaster Management Dr. Vijay Kumar Singh. He also directed Resident Commissioner at Madhya Pradesh Bhavan in New Delhi to coordinate and keep in touch.
Chief Secretary Shri R. Parasuram, Principal Secretary Shri Manoj Shrivastava, ADG Intelligence Shri Vivek Jauhari, ADG Disaster Management Dr. Vijay Kumar, Secretary Shri S.K. Mishra and Bhopal collector Shri Nishant Barbade attended the meeting.
