State Govt. Disbursed over 8 Cr. in Medical assistance to Poor

Bhopal  —  As part of its policy to provide free medical attention to the poor, the state government, this year, disbursed Rs eight crore 36 lakh 91 thousand to 750 beneficiaries under the Beemar Sahayata Nidhi (Patient Assistance Fund), informed Minister for Public Health & Family Planning, Anup Mishra.

Mishra informed that BPL families which are domiciles of Madhya Pradesh are provided Rs 25 thousand to Rs 1.50 lakh for treatment under Madhya Pradesh Rajya Beemar Sahayata Nidhi.

The assistance is given for cancer surgery, renal surgery, replacement of joint, post-natal complications, retinal detachment, brain surgery, MDR cases, hip replacement, head injury, spinal injury, heart surgery and neurosurgery.

The Minister said that this year 764 patients of BPL families were provided economic assistance.

While Rs 51 lakh 40 thousand was provided to cancer patients, Rs 1.25 lakh was given to one patient for undergoing thoracic surgery, Rs 12 lakh to 39 patients for knee joint replacement surgery and Rs 5 lakh was provided to five patients for spinal surgery while 593 heart patients were given assistance of Rs 5 crore 61 lakh 44 thousand and a patient of MDR case was given Rs 91 thousand.

Mishra informed that maximum aid under the scheme was given to heart patients. District wise, economic assistance was provided to four patients in Morena, 2 in Sheopur, seven in Bhind, three in Gwalior, one in Datia, seven in Shivpuri, 14 in Guna, seven in Ashok Nagar, 10 in Tikamgarh, 15 in Chhatarpur, four in Panna, 35 in Sagar, 22 in Damoh, 20 in Satna, 16 in Rewa, three in Shahdol, five in Sidhi, five in Umaria, 2 in Anuppur, one in Singrauli, 36 in Mandsaur, 22 in Neemuch, 16 in Ratlam, 38 in Ujjain, 20 in Shajapur, 35 in Dewas, six in Jhabua, 13 in Dhar, 46 in Indore, 12 in Khargone, 15 in Barwani, 13 in Khandwa, 15 in Burhanpur, six in Alirajpur, 34 in Rajgarh, 33 in Vidisha, 45 in Bhopal, 29 in Sehore, 17 in Raisen, 13 in Betul, 17 in Hoshangabad, seven in Harda, 18 in Jabalpur, 10 in Katni, 12 in Narsinghpur, five in Mandla, 16 in Chhindwara, four in Seoni and 28 in Balaghat.
