Bhopal. Minister for External Affairs Smt. Sushma Swaraj has said that solution to problem of climate change lies in Indian philosophy and lifestyle. She said that science of safeguarding nature is enshrined in Indian philosophy, lifestyle, traditions and culture. She was addressing concluding function of 2-day national symposium on ‘Global Warming and Climate Change – Towards Solution’ at Vidhan Sabha conference hall here today. The symposium was organized jointly by EPCO, Narmada Samagra, Madhya Pradesh Jan Abhiyan Parishad and Centre for Community Economics and Development Consultants Society (CECOEDECON) in the context of Simhastha-2016.

Smt. Swaraj said that the world is facing 2 major challenges of terrorism and climate change. Terrorism is attack of human beings on human race and climate change is the result of attack of human beings on nature. The attack began with start of industrialization in 18th century. Some developed countries who created crisis for Earth due to wanton race of development are now seeking its solution from all the countries.

Smt. Swaraj said that development made in artificial manner has become a problem for nature and it is an irony that its artificial solution is being searched. She said that solution cannot be found unless lifestyle is changed. Referring to natural disasters in India due to climate change, she said that it is not caused by India, but even then we wish to become partner in efforts to find its solution. She said that Indic knowledge is totally scientific. She said that carbon credit is being talked about at global level, but green credits should also be given. She said that solution to global warming can be found only then resolve is taken to abandon greed, save Earth from destruction and utilization of natural resources only as per need.
