Sena Activists Torch SRK Posters in Bhopal

Bhopal  —  Incensed Shiv Sena activists torched posters of Bollywood super icon Shah Rukh Khan in Bhopal on Monday in protest of his recent remarks over the exclusion of Pakistani cricketers from the third season of the Indian Premier League.

According to media reports, the Sena workers demonstrated at the Roshanpura Square not far from the swank New Market area, and said they would not allow the screening of his forthcoming movie “My Name is Khan” in Madhya Pradesh.

Shiv Sena has mounted a blistering campaign against Shah Rukh, co-owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders, after he said he would have picked a Pakistani player for KKR if he had an open slot in his team.

This year, IPL teams have refrained from bidding for Pakistani players amid protests over Pakistan’s involvement in the 26/11 Mumbai terror carnage.
Sena workers want Shah Rukh withdraw his statement and apologise to the nation.

“Khan’s attitude and his remarks have hurt all the patriotic people of this nation as it is an insult to the martyrs (security personnel) and others who died in the 2008 Mumbai attacks,” Sanjay Saxena, the state secretary of Shiv Sena was quoted as saying by IANS.
