School Teacher Accused of Molesting Tribal Girls Arrested
A school teacher charged with molesting tribal girl students of Class 3 and 5 was arrested on Wednesday in Vidish disctrict, said a media report citing police.
According to report, Sanjeev Sharma, working in a school run under the the Shiksha Guarantee Scheme in tribal-dominated Nupur Tapra village, had stripped the girls behind closed doors on the pretext of taking measurements of their uniforms on July 24.
It may be mentioned that Vidisha is the home district of the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
“The teacher had molested six girls of a school in Nupur Tapra while taking measurements of their uniforms July 24. On receiving information, villagers objected to this and the teacher apologised,” IANS quoted Sub-Divisional Officer Narendra Trivedi as saying.
Sharma was expelled Tuesday after he was found guilty during preliminary inquiry and cases were registered against him for violations of the provisions of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and for molestation.
