Rs. 860 crore to be sanctioned for Gwalior citys drinking water and sewage networks

Bhopal. Rs. 860 crore to will sanctioned for Gwalior city’s drinking water and sewage networks. Funds will also be sanctioned to construct 20 thousand 400 houses for economically weaker people of the city. This was announced by Union Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shri Venkaiah Naidu. He was addressing Gwalior Vikas Parv-cum-Antyodaya and Kisan Mela at Gwalior today. Presiding over the function, Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that houses for needy persons to be made residential land owners under Right of Land law.

Shri Naidu said that the Central government will also provide funds for development of parks, construction of footpaths etc. in Gwalior city. He assured that Gwalior would be included in Smart City Project in next list. Shri Naidu said that the state government under leadership of Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan is doing laudable work. Madhya Pradesh emerged pioneer in the country in agriculture sector. He said that Antyodaya Melas being held by the state government are playing significant role in extending assistance to the needy.

Shri Naidu said that it is responsibility of the government to present before people its achievements and accounts. The Central government is giving an account of its functioning during last 2 years by holding Bharat Parv functions. Shri Naidu said that the Central government would provided houses to all by year 2022. All village will be connected with pucca roads by year 2019.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has increased glory of India throughout the world. He said that India’s growth has constantly increased during last 2 years due to which India has become pioneer in the world in growth rate. He said that no poor person on the soil of Madhya Pradesh will be houseless by year 2022. He said that the state government is going to frame Right of Land Act for this. Shri Chouhan urged public representatives and people to send all children to schools.

Union Minister Shri Tomar said that Gwalior city has scaled new heights of development during last 10 years. He said that it has become possible only through cooperation extended by state government under leadership of Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Shri Tomar Central government will extend every possible assistance for Gwalior city’s development.

Union Minister of State for Finance Shri Jayant Sinha said that India is pioneer in FBI in the world. This exhibits success of ‘Make in India’ programme. He said that encouraging results have also been yielded by Skill India Development Programme. Shri Sinha said that through Start-Up India programme, the Central government is extending opportunity to new entrepreneurs. He said that under Mudra Yojana, Central government is giving assistance from Rs. 50 thousand to Rs. 10 lakh to youths without guarantee. He lauded holding of Antyodaya Melas.

State’s Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Maya Singh said that the state government has made available assistance to lakhs of needy persons at one single places through Antyodaya Melas.

Mayor Shri Vivek Narayan Shejwalkar delivered the welcome address. Shri Vijay Sonkar Shastri also spoke on the occasion.

Exhibition become centre of attraction

Exhibition put up by Public Relations Department on the theme ‘Har Zindagi Ko Chhote Muskan Laate Ham’ on the Mela premises became a centre of attraction. Various other departments also put up exhibitions.

Housing and other assistance to 300 urban poor

Union Ministers and the Chief Minister handed over keys of houses under Housing Scheme to 300 needy beneficiaries. Besides, LPG connections were provided to 5 women under Ujjwala Yojana. Besides, assistance was also provided as a token to about 80 beneficiaries under other schemes.

Action plans of district’s innovations released

Action plans of district’s innovations were also released on the occasion. The action plans include effective curb on infant and maternal mortality rate, decrease malnutrition and ‘Project Spandan’ to improve gender ratio. Similarly, the district administration in collaboration with Health Department will issue Health Card to every family to provide health services. The district administration has also made initiative to impart free coaching to students of weaker sections for preparation of civil services, PET and PMT exams.
