Rs. 45 lakh community hall to be constructed for SC social functions

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan unveiled a life-size statue of Dr. Ambedkar at Damoh today. He announced construction of a Rs. 45 lakh community hall for social functions of scheduled castes.
The Chief Minister said that apart from being author of Constitution, Dr. Ambedkar was also a harbinger of social equality. He struggled throughout his life to eradicate social discrimination. Shri Chouhan said that the State Government has made arrangements for free education from class 1 to XII. The government will spend upto Rs. 15 per student annually to send scheduled caste students to foreign countries for higher studies. He said that the State Government is also ensuring free coaching to scheduled caste students for appearing in competitive exams like IAS and IPS. Shri Chouhan informed that craftspersons will be provided loan upto Rs. 50 thousand under Mukhyamantri Swarozgar Yojana to expand their business. The margin money and guarantee will also be provided by the State Government. Similarly, the State Government will provide loan guarantee upto Rs. 25 lakh under Mukhyamantri Yuva Swarozgar Yojana to youths to setting up their own business and industries. The government will also provide 5 percent interest subsidy for 5 years.
The Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh government is the government of all sections, but is with those first who are in the last row of development. A scheme has been implemented in the state to provide Rs. 150 per quintal bonus to farmers on wheat procurement and this wheat is being distributed to the poor at the rate of Rs. 3 kg. Shri Chouhan said that the State Government has constructed a grand memorial at the birthplace of Dr. Ambedkar at Mhow. This memorial has been built at the place where he was ordinated, but the State Government is of the view that a grand memorial should also be constructed in Delhi where Dr. Ambedkar compiled Indian Constituted. If the Union Government does not evince interest, then the memorial will be built by Madhya Pradesh government.
Water Resources Minister Shri Jayant Malaiya said that the State Government has provisioned Rs. 1294 crore for the welfare of scheduled castes. The function was inaugurated with garlanding of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar’s picture and washing feet of 5 girls. On the occasion, the Chief Minister also released a souvenir published by Suryavanshi Ahirwar Jatava Sangh and gave away citations to people of the community who have done outstanding social and awakening works.
Farmers’ Welfare & Agriculture Development Minister Dr. Ramkrishna Kusmaria, MP Shri Shivraj Singh Lodhi, MLA Shri Dashrath Singh Lodhi, Smt. Uma Devi Khatik, Zila Panchayat Chairpersons Smt. Anita Singh, other public representatives and large number of people were present on the occasion.
