Rs 125 crore investment in industrial areas of Katni, Seoni district

Bhopal. Industrial areas are being developed in Katni and Seoni district. Infrastructure works have been completed in these areas on priority basis. Several people have been provided employment through the units set up in the areas. Nearly Rs 125 crore has been invested in these industrial units.

Under Integrated Infrastructure Development Scheme a Laghu Vikas Kendra has been developed in Lamtara village of Katni district. At least 14.226 hectare land has been allotted to 81 industrial units in the Laghu Vikas Kendra. Currently production is underway in 59 industrial units with an investment of Rs 49 crores in these units. Nearly 600 persons have been employed in the units. Apart from a Laghu Vikas Kendra another industrial area is being developed in Lamtara in which 50 units have been allotted 28.779 hectare land. Currently production is underway on 34 units. Rs 62 crore capital has been invested in the units and at least 450 persons have been employed in these units.

A stone park has been set up to develop marble based industries under ASIDE scheme with the help of Centre’s Commerce and Industries Ministry. All infrastructure related work in the stone park has been completed. Four industrial units in the park have been allotted 4.230 hectare land with a capital investment of Rs 3 crores and employment to nearly 100 persons. About 40 hectare land has been developed in the stone park. In Katni itself, the Industry and Commerce Department has developed 60 hectare land at Amkuhi village. About 90 hectare land has been allotted for setting up new industries in Amkuhi industrial area.

An industrial area is being developed in Bhurkal Khapa village on State Highway No. 11 on Seoni-Mandla Road in Seoni district. This area is at a distance of 6 km from Seoni and 125 kilometre from Nagpur. The essential infrastructure work in Bhurkal Khapa is being carried out speedily. Construction of a 33 kv power sub station for power supply to industrial units is complete. About 390 hectare land is available with Bhurkal Khapa. Currently 60.780 hectare land has been developed. A capital investment of Rs 17 crore in 11 units has been made. Atleast 300 persons will be employed in these units.
