Rs. 10 thousand per annum to parents of girls commissioned in Army

Bhopal: Honorarium worth Rs. 10 thousand per annum will be given to parents whose daughters are commissioned in the Army. The State Government is committed for the welfare and rehabilitation of ex-servicemen, their widows and dependents. This was stated by Home Minister Shri Umashankar Gupta at the 18th meeting of State Ex-Servicemen’s Welfare Board here today.
The Home Minister said that a proposal has been chalked out to enhance monthly financial assistance to ex-servicemen and widows of World War II and link it with dearness index. He said that directives have been given to District Ex-servicemen’s Welfare Officers to provide jobs to ex-servicemen in both government and private sectors. Training will also be imparted to them as per industries’ demand in Skill Development Centres.
The Home Minister said that vehicles have also been provided to District Ex-servicemen’s Welfare Offices so that staff over there can contact ex-servicemen by visiting their villages. Efforts have been made to collect donation of Flag Day from all the districts. Shri Gupta said that Ex-Servicemen’s Guest Houses have been constructed in Satna and Ratlam and are under-construction at Khandwa and Ujjain. Officers have been posted in all the District Ex-servicemen’s Welfare Offices. The Home Minister said that positive action will be taken on the suggestions put forth at the meeting.
1141 ex-servicemen get jobs: As many as 1141 ex-servicemen were provided jobs in various sectors under Group C and D during the year 2012-13. The Home Minister also directed to chalk out a proposal regarding exemption from surcharge on re-registration of vehicles of ex-servicemen on being brought from other states to the home state. He informed that monthly assistance of 58 gallantry medal winners of Madhya Pradesh has been enhanced.
Additional Chief Secretary Home Shri I.S. Dani, Director General Rehabilitation Major General Pramod Behel, Secretary Home Smt. Seema Sharma and other Board members put forth important suggestions at the meeting.
