Rs. 1 per kg wheat-rice to farmers with over 50 % crops loss

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Re. 1 per kg wheat and price will be provided for 8 months to farmers who have suffered over 50 % crops loss by including their names in the list of beneficiaries. Shri Chouhan said that maximum assistance will be provided by the state government to the affected farmers.

Shri Chouhan visited hailstorm-affected villages in Sehore district’s tahsils Rehti, Nasrullahganj and Ashta including Chakaldi, Kothar Pipaliya, Kankariya, Harmau, Suned, Ladkui, Bhadakui, Gularpura and Kanyakhedi today. The Chief Minister took stock of crops and held discussions with hailstorm farmers. Consoling farmers, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that state government stands by them.

Shri Chouhan said that hundreds of villages in 40 districts of the state have been affected by this natural calamity. For this, necessary instructions have been given to field staff. The field staff will survey every single field and ensure payment of proper relief and crop insurance amount to affected farmers.

The Chief Minister said that farmers will be able to marry off their daughters from home this year. They will be given Rs. 25 thousand assistance each under Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana even if affected farmers marry off daughters from home. Defaulter hailstorm-affected farmers will also be provided seeds and fertilisers by societies. Recovery of loan from affected farmers will be suspended. Payment of interest will be made by the state government.

On girls’ demand at village Kothra, the Chief Minister announced to open a high school from next academic session.

In-charge Minister of Sehore district Shri Rampal Singh, former Chairmen of corporations Shri Rajendra Singh Rajput and Shri Guru Prasad Sharma and Zila Panchayat Chairman Shri Dharmendra Singh Chouhan were present on the occasion.
