RPO Official Deposes in Abu Salem Passport Case

Bhopal:  A former official of the Bhopal regional Passport Office appeared before Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Mohan P Tiwari on Thursday and recorded her statement in the 2001 fake passport case involving Abu Salem.

Indu Nair, the then passport officer, told the court that she was approached by a person to issue the travel document in the names of Danish Baig, Fouzia Usmani and Rubina Baig.

The passports under these names were allegedly made for Abu Salem, Monica Bedi and his first wife Sameera Zumani.

Bedi has already been acquitted in the case.

Nair told the curt that she could immediately recognize the person in question if she saw him.

Abu Salem was not present during the deposition.
