Rise above Politics, Reconstruct MP: Chouhan

Bhopal  —  Commencing the third ‘Madhya Pradesh Banao Yatra’ from Gudgaon village in Betul district on Tuesday Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan urged people to rise above party politics and participate in the reconstruction and development of the state.

Addressing a gathering Chouhan said efforts are underway to ensure that benefits of development reach the poor and the underprivileged and every poor can get work and payment against work.

He said that the state government has made the provision of minimum Rs 100 daily wages for labourers under National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. He said every effort is being made to provide employment to jobless youth.

Terming the prosperity of villages as pertinent to the prosperity of the state, Chouhan urged every individual to perform his work with full devotion and dedication.

Announcing the imminent formation of Village Development Committees to oversee the development of villages, Chouhan said these committees will also maintain a check on the implementation of government schemes.

On the occasion the chief minister administered a five-point pledge to the villagers. The vows include maintaining cleanliness, planting saplings, sending children to schools, de-addiction and conserving water.

Forest Minister Sartaj Singh and Tribal Welfare Minister Vijay Shah also spoke on the occasion. MP  Jyoti Dhurve and local MLAs were also present.
