Rescue Vehicles for Distressed, Stray Animals in State
Bhopal, Animals at the Van Vihar National Park will enjoy the services of a state of the art Rescue Squad Vehicle (RSV) Which would be pressed into service to provide medical or other assistance to injured and stray animals.
An official statement iisued Saturday said that the Forest Department had purchased nine such vehicles which apart from Van Vihar will also be pressed into service at all rescue centers and national parks at Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Panna, Satpura, Pench, Jabalpur, Shivpuri and Indore.
Madhya Pradesh is probably the first state in the country to provide such service to wild animals.
Wildlife Department sources said that an automatic hydraulic platform would be built to load and unload the animals’ cages.
The RSV have been also equipped with cable and pulley arrangement to rescue animals from deep ditches.
