Register Cases against Manufacturers of Illegal Polythene: Gaur

Urban Administration and Development Minister Babulal Gaur has given instructions of registering cases against those who manufacture and sell polythene bags of less than 20 micrones.

In a meeting at his residency, the minister instructed officials of Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) and MP Pollution Control Board to register cases against those violating rules in manufacturing and sale of polythene bags.

Recently, a joint team of Bhopal Municipal Corporation and MP Pollution Control Board had registered 19 cases and seized over one quintal of polythene bags in Bhopal.

The other major decisions taken in the meeting included stopping 21 polluting nullahas from falling in the Lower Lake, closing down Bhanpur dumping ground and starting a new dumping ground at Adampur Chhaoni, and reviewing BRTS works being undertaken in Bhopal under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission.

Officials present during the meeting were Principal Secretary Urban Administration and Development Raghav Chandra, Commissioner Urban Administration and Development SN Mishra, Director Project Uday Smt Deepti Goud-Mukherjee, director of Raja Bhoj Airport GP Alex, BMC Commissioner Manish singh, officers of MP Pollution Control Board, SDM GP Mali and officers of Power Distribution Company.
