Progress, development and empowerment of women is the aim of my life – CM Chouhan

Sisters will get respect and strength from Ladli Bahna Yojana I am proud of my more than 44 lakh Ladli Lakshmis Dedication and foundation laying of works worth more than Rs 207 crores

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that several schemes are being implemented in the state for women empowerment. The aim of my life is to change the lives of women and bring smile on their faces. Chief Minister Chouhan attended Ladli Bahna Sammelan at Malajkhand in Balaghat district today and performed bhoomi-pujan and dedicated development works worth Rs 207 crore. The Chief Minister was welcomed by the tribal community with traditional form of dance and musical instruments.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that no woman will remain helpless in the state, we will make them strong. I will not let tears come in the eyes of my sisters. He said that in earlier decades, despair was visible on the faces of the parents after the birth of a girl child. At the same time, worries about the daughter’s upbringing, education and marriage used to bother them.

Ladli Laxmi Yojana was started in the state to remove this agony of the poor class. While the social attitude towards daughters has changed with the schemes and programmes started for women empowerment, there has also been an increase in the sex ratio of the state. Balaghat is one of the districts of the state where the sex ratio is very good. Here sons and daughters are looked upon equally.

Today I happily say that more than 44 lakh Ladli Lakshmis are my daughters, daughter is not a burden but a boon. He said that the properties are now being registered in the name of women. The government had decided that 50 percent reservation should be given to women in local elections.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that on the evening of June 10, the amount of Ladli Bahna Yojana will be deposited in the accounts of sisters. Sisters will be able to withdraw this amount the next day on June 11. He said that as a brother it is my duty to give some gifts to my sisters. For this, an amount of Rs 1000 per month will be deposited in the accounts of the sisters. The Chief Minister said that forms of one crore 25 lakh eligible sisters have been accepted in the state. Ladli Bahna Sena is being formed in every village to monitor the schemes run in the interest of women at the field. 21 women members will be included in big villages and 11 women members in small villages. Collector Dr. Girish Mishra told that 3 lakh 53 thousand forms have been filled in the district, out of which DBT work has been completed in 3 lakh 41 thousand accounts.

Chief Minister Chouhan announced to start post graduate classes in Malanjkhand College, boundary wall construction work and leveling of sports ground, dividers and beautification in Malanjkhand town.

Chief Minister Chouhan distributed forest rights leases to 44 beneficiaries in Malanjkhand of Balaghat district. These beneficiaries were residing before December 31, 2005 but they did not have ownership rights for that land. By giving forest rights pattas to these people today, in a way they have been made owners of residential land. All the beneficiaries looked happy after getting the forest rights lease. Beneficiaries of tribal class include 11 of Ward 5 and 33 of Ward 20 among those who received forest rights lease.
