Prime Minister Narendra Modi Calls On by CM

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan met Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at Parliament House-New Delhi today. Shri Chouhan apprised the Prime Minister Shri Modi about the ‘Namami Devi Narmade” Yatra being organised in the state on the lines of Namami Gange. He informed that the yatra will begin from Amarkantak from December 11 and will culminate on May 2017. Shri Chouhan invited the Prime Minister Shri Modi at the concluding programme of yatra. The yatra will culminate on May 04, 2017.

CM Shri Chouhan informed that he himself will take part in the yatra once a week. The main objective of the yatra is to prevent falling level of environment, to generate awareness towards environment among people, to keep Narmada water pure and to develop suitable environment surrounding Narmada. Shri Chouhan also extended gratitude towards the Prime Minister Shri Modi for issuing central share of Rs. 2 thousand crore towards Crop Insurance Scheme.

CM Shri Chouhan further informed that water level is dropping and Narmada did not get water from any glacier. Narmada gets water mainly from rainfall, mountains and trees. As per the scheme, plants will be planted at both the banks of Narmada, its sanitation and to ensure prevention of sewage water to enter Naramda. A wide public awareness campaign will be conducted for this during the yatra. A swachcha Bharat abhiyan is being organized as per the perception of the Prime Minister Shri Modi.

Shri Chouhan termed Prime Minister Shri Modi as Yug-Purush and thanked him for his remarkable work to ban currency notes. He said that this step is an extraordinary step taken for the welfare of India. This step will eradicate corruption, terrorism and black money.

Met Union Minister for Finance

Shri Chouhan also met the Union Minister for Finance Shri Arun Jaitley. Shri Chouhan expressed gratitude for release of 17 hundred crore installment of state share from the central taxes. Shri Chouhan urged Shri Jailtley for release of the remaining amount at the earliest. It may be mentioned that the state share is around Rs. 3000 crore in the central taxes.

Met Union Ministers

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also met Union Minister for Home Shri Rajnath Singh and Union Minister for Rural Development Shri Narendra Singh Tomar during his New Delhi visit. Shri Chouhan also met Union Minister for External Affairs Sushri Sushma Swaraj and prayed for her speedy recovery. Moreover, Shri Chouhan met Rajyasabha member Shri Prabhat Jha and State’s Minister of State for Water Resources Shri Harsh Singh and prayed for his speedy recovery.
