Police Cane Charge Marks Salman’s ‘Homecoming’

Bhopal  —  Indore Police on Sunday resorted to a mild use of force to contain Bollywood icon Salman Khan’s fans who indulged in violence after the star, scheduled to play a cricket match on the city, arrived five hours late and left within a few moments.

A large crowd had gathered in and around the stadium to catch a glimpse of the dashing star, who was to participate in match to promote one of his forthcoming films.

After Salman left the stadium, angry spectators threw chairs in protest, the police used mild force to contain the riot.

Salman, son of scriptwriter Salim of Salim-Javed fame, has close family ties with Indore – his father’s hometown.
