Phase One of School Chale Ham Campaign Commences Today

Bhopal  —  School Education Minister Archana Chitnis has sought peoples’ participation to ensure the success of the phase one of the School Chale Ham Campaign – which gets underway across the state with the reopening of government schools for the new academic session on Thursday.

The beginning of the academic session also marks the implementation of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009, which provides for free and compulsory education for every child in the age range of 6-14, making their registration and attendance mandatory at a local school.

The state government has instructed divisional commissioners, collectors and CEOs of Zila Panchayats to strive for the success of the campaign.

Teams have been constituted to contact every household in the respective areas. The help of members of Parent-Teacher Associations, public representatives, Jan Abhiyan Parishad members, Childline and NGOs has also been sought for the purpose.

This year’s ‘School Chale Ham’ campaign, unlike previous years, will consist of two phases, while the first phase will commence today and conclude on April 15, the second phase will take place between July 1-15 after the schools reopen after the summer vacations.

Minister Chitnis has urged all sections of society to contribute to the success of the campaign.
