NGO Launches Unique Bicycle Drive

Bhopal:  Adopting a novel track, Aham Bhumika – an NGO – has initiated a drive that could free poor children of their travel worries this Independence Day.

The NGO is urging city residents to donate, to the poor, the scores of bicycles otherwise gathering dust and rust in the more fortunate localities in the state capital.

Speaking of the scheme, Subrat Goswami an office bearer of the NGO said the bicycles could help the poor children take a quantum leap and get to schools which otherwise are too far for them to travel.

The bicycles are to be distributed to children of stone crushing labour in the Kalapani village.

He said the most significant aspect of the scheme was that the bicycles were not being purchased through institutional funding or an international grant but were being donated by city residents.

Visionmp.com joins the NGO in its appeal to city residents to donate the used bicycles parked in their porch or garage for this noble cause and present a set of wheels to young dreams.
