Naxal-prone police stations to be fully equipped in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: Director General of Police Shri Nandan Dube has said that facilities will soon be expanded in naxal-prone police stations in the state. Besides, staff posted at these police stations will also be rewarded for outstanding work. He said that online registration of FIR is also being considered. Shri Dube was addressing a meeting of Inspectors General of Police and SPs of Shahdol and Rewa divisions at Shahdol today. Rewa IG Shri D.P. Gupta, Shahdol Range IG Shri Vedprakash Sharma and SPs of divisions’ districts attended the meeting.
Shri Dube said that apart from borders of naxal-prone areas, intensive patrolling should also be ensured in police station areas and duration of night patrolling should be increased. Directing to keep a close watch on people coming from outside, he said that suspicious looking people should also be interrogated.
Shri Dube sought information from SPs about district-wise availability of forces, vehicles and housing arrangements. He said that police personnel should be deployed wherever their number is short. He directed to register even small cases of theft and minor clashes. He suggested to send proposals for construction of hosues and garage to the headquarters after getting them approved by District Plan Committee. Shri Dube also discussed posting of an AIG in Rewa.
The Director General of Police also directed to prepare list of tribal students having passed class X exam and prevent sale of hooch and power theft. He said that if need be, vehicles can be hired. For this, funds will be provided from Police Headquarters. Shri Dube said that Kotwars have good knowledge about people coming and going out of villages. They can be used in police stations.
