National Lok Adalats on November 23, 2013

Bhopal: State Legal Service will hold national Lok Adalats under the aegis of National Legal Service Authority on November 23, 2013 in all districts of the state. At these Lok Adalats, electricity-related cases will also be redressed.
In this regard, Madhya Pradesh Power Distribution Company has decided that as per rules, the company will give 50 percent exemption at Lok Adalats on total estimated consumption in the cases pending in courts under sections 135 and 138 of Electricity Act 2003. The company has also decided that 50 percent concession will be given as per civil liability assessed by it in pending court cases under sections of Electricity Act to all the domestic, agricultural and rural domestic consumers of upto 5 kilowatt load and rural industrial consumers of upto 10 kilowatts on the condition that the accused user or power consumers will be eligible for 50 percent concession only when they make lump sum payment of civil liability.
The company has urged those accused power consumers or users, against whom cases are pending in courts for power theft or unauthorised connection under various sections under sections 135 and 138, to avail this concession.
