MP Govt. Issues Poll Related Directives
In pursuance of its endeavour to ensure the proper implementation of the Model Code of Conduct, the Madhya Pradesh Government on Tuesday issued orders to all departments
The General Administration Department (GAD) has issued directives to all the heads of Government departments, chairperson revenue circle Gwalior, all the district collectors, CEOs of Zila Panchayats in this regard.
The directives bar meetings of various block, tehsil, district and division level committees which comprise of people from the non-Government sector apart from Government officials.
The directives barring such meetings will remain in-force till the conclusion of Lok Sabha elections.
The decisions taken by the cabinet during the validity of the code of conduct should be forwarded to the State’s Chief Electoral Officer first.
The departments, corporations, boards, authorities and other institutions, which are partially or fully funded by the Government should first dispatch their public notices and advertisements, to the Chief Electoral officer for requisite clearances.
The bodies have also been barred from handing out any kinds of benefits during this period. All the new appointments and auctions also stand suspended.
The departments have been directed to conduct promotions and transfers as per the guidelines of Election Commission of India (ECI). The Government has also directed to seek guidance from ECI, if necessary at any point of time.
