More power sub-stations will be setup in MP

BHOPAL, PTI: In a joint collaboration with Japan the Madhya Pradesh Electricity Transmission Company will set up 34 sub stations in the state to transmit electricity from power houses.

An official release said, a sum of Rs 40 crore has been received under project ”Jaika” from Japan International Corporation Agency.

The project will help in reducing power transmission loss as well as improve electricity networking in MadhyaPradesh. The transmission loss which was 7.93 per cent in2002-03 has now been reduced to 4.08 per cent.

Under the Jaika project fund, 220 kv sub stations will beinstalled at Shajapur, Gwalior, Datia, Mugalia Chhap (Bhopal),Dhar, Gorabazar (Jabalpur), Anuppur and Julwania (Barwani).

In 2002-03, electricity supply which was maximum at 4,587 megawatt has now increased upto 7786 megawatt.

Transmission lines have been laid to supply the power to consumers.

For this, a loan of Rs 500 crore has been taken from ADB by the Transmission Company.

Besides, a sum of Rs 123 crore has been loaned from Power Finance Corporation for installation of sub stations to reducepower load.

In next two years, programmes are in pipeline for generating power more than 5,000 megawatt. The works are in progress to strengthen electricity network to ensure supply upto consumers.

All three power distributing companies are working outon feeder diversification to the tune of Rs 5,000 crore. Besides, works under Rajiv Gandhi Rural Electrification Project of Rs 2,500 crore are under process in the state.

132 kv sub stations will be set up to reduce the power voltage of 220 kv at Hastinapur Gwalior, Runah(Bhopal), Khurai, Bhudhra (Tikamgarh), Sitamau, Bichhua(Chhindwara), Baihar, Guna, Barotha (Indore), Dewas, Barwani,Shankargarh (Dewas bypass), Amla, Khirkiya, Shahganj, Baroda(Sheopurkalan), Sidhi, Rahatganj (Sagar), Tejgarh (Damoh),Chhattarpur, Rau, Tikamgarh, Batiagarh (Damoh), Satwas (Dewas)and Sohagagpur.
