Mild Showers Wash away Magical Claims in Bhopal

Bhopal:

Mild, late evening showers resulted in a significant dip in the temperatures and brought respite to Bhopalis reeling under the impact of a harsh heat wave that hit the city nearly a fortnight ago.

Clouds, having played hide-n-seek with the city over the last couple of days, finally relented and came down on Sunday sending ripples of joy and the scent of wet mud across the state capital.

Significantly, the showers washed away claims held by a section of residents here, who believe that circus owners and artistes come armed with some mystical powers to stop the rains – the dogma had been gathering steam for the last few days.

A circus has been camping in the city and hopefully, the showers, which merely lasted a few minutes, would not have interfered with business.
