Mega Lok Adalats held at district and tahsil headquarters

Bhopal: Mega Lok Adalats were held at all the district and tahsil headquarters today where various cases were settled through mutual agreement. The administration had made effective arrangements for litigants at Lok Adalat venues.
Mega Lok Adalat was inaugurated at Jabalpur by High Court Chief Justice Shri Sharad Arvind Bobde. He presented a cheque worth Rs. 55 lakh as compensation to Smt. Manjula Soni. This compensation amount was fixed a Lok Adalat bench in the case of accident death of the then executive engineer of Madhya Pradesh Electricity Board. At this Lok Adalat, 11,234 revenue, 3989 penal and 26,359 beneficiary-oriented cases were settled.
Lok Adalat at Indore was inaugurated by High Court Indore Bench’s Justice Shri Shantanu S. Kemkar. Here 54,996 cases were disposed of. Gwalior Lok Adalat was inaugurated by High Court Gwalior Bench’s Justice Shri S.K. Gangele. As many as 44 thousand cases were disposed of over there including 20,156 revenue cases. Five thousand cases were disposed of in Ashok Nagar and 24,846 cases in Sheopur where awards to the tune of Rs. 15 crore 14 lakh 58 thousand 487 were also passed. In Satna, 100 benches were formed at the Mega Lok Adalat which received about 2.50 lakh case for disposal. It was inaugurated by Jabalpur High Court Justice Shri A.M. Siddiqui. Food and Civil Supplies Minister Shri Paras Jain inaugurated Lok Adalat at Mandsaur. He also sanctioned Rs. 10 thousand from his discretionary fund for serving free food to litigants. Cases were disposed of at 33 benches in Umaria, 38 benches in Shajapur and 13 benches in Dewas district. District & Sessions Judge of Dewas lauded arrangements made for Lok Adalat. In Lok Adalats held in Dewas, 40 thousand cases involving over Rs. 3 crore were disposed of including 509 of Power Distribution Company, 81 of cooperative societies and 1132 of Municipal Corporation. Damoh Lok Adalat was inaugurated by Jabalpur High Court Justice Shri K.K. Trivedi.
As many as 46 benches were set up in Dhar district. A target was set to dispose of 54 thousand cases in the district against which 35 thousand cases were disposed of. In Anuppur district, 35 thousand cases were disposed of at 37 benches. In Datia, 2397 cases were disposed of including 1461 revenue cases. As many as one lakh 4,562 cases were disposed of in Raisen district including maximum 71 thousand 583 revenue cases.
Lok Adalat in Khandwa district was inaugurated by High Court Justices Shri Ajit Singh and Shri Rajendra Menon. They disposed of over 200 cases pertaining to land acquisition. In Guna, 24 thousand 917 cases were disposed of and awards worth Rs. 4 crore passed. In Sagar, 83 thousand cases were disposed of with mutual consent and award amounting to Rs. 5 crore 84 lakh 42 thousand passed. In Morena district, 59 thousand 718 cases were disposed of including 49 thousand 784 cases of the Revenue Department. In Katni district, 23 thousand 991 cases were disposed of, awards worth Rs. 2 crore 87 lakh passed and Rs. 2 crore 62 lakh recovered.
Similarly, Mega Lok Adalats were also held in Singrauli, Mandla, Hoshangabad, Chhatarpur, Ratlam, Vidisha and other districts.
