AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi has held media responsible for highlighting only his visits to Dalit houses across the country, though he went to places place where people of all classes lived, reported PTI.
“The media talks only about my visits to the houses of Dalits and chooses to ignore other places where I go,” he was quoted as saying at a press conference in Bhopal.
Gandhi is on a two-day visit to Madhya Pradesh to expand base of Youth Congress and the students wing NSUI.
He said that nothing should be read into his visits to houses of poor.
“I had yesterday gone to four colleges and a tribal hostel but the media highlighted only my visit to the hostel,” said Gandhi, who visited Gwalior, Sagar and Jabalpur yesterday.
Gandhi was impressed with the enthusiasm that students living in a tribal hostel at Bhopal showed when he made an unannounced and unscheduled visit to the place.
“I thought that if such poor students can be full of optimism then there is not doubt that the future of India will be bright,” Gandhi was quoted as saying.
