Madhya Pradesh to become number one state : CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Madhya Pradesh will become number one state in India. He said that the State Government is sensitive towards senior citizens, youths, poor, farmers and common people. Shri Chouhan stated this at Antyodaya Mela at Lahar in Bhind district today.

On the occasion, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan inaugurated 122 construction works worth Rs. 5 crore 55 lakh 30 thousand and laid foundation stones for 260 works costing Rs. 12 crore 76 lakh 44 thousand. A public welfare camp, health camp and job fair were also held on the occasion. Medical Education Minister Shri Anoop Mishra, Energy Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla, MP Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, MLA Shri Ramesh Shukla and other public representatives were present on the occasion.

Shri Chouhan said that the State Government is going to implement a new law for protecting senior citizens and making children accountable towards parents. In the law, provision will be made for 3 months’ sentence to children who do not make arrangements for parents’ meals and housing. At present, arrangements for meals for such senior citizens have been made through mid-day meal scheme.

The Chief Minister said that Mukhyamantri Yuva Swarozgar Yojana has been launched for providing self-employment to youths. Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana’s 2nd phase has been launched to provide square meals to the poor. Under the scheme, wheat and iodised salt at Rs. 1 per kg and rice at Rs. 2 per kg are being provided through fair price shops. The State Government is providing loans to farmers at zero percent interest rate. They are also being given Rs. 150 per quintal bonus on procurement of wheat, he added.
