Madhya Pradesh to be developed as ideal state in all respects : CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Madhya Pradesh will be developed such an ideal state, which will be a precedent in entire world. Shri Chouhan was addressing people at an Antyodaya Mela at Behat in Gwalior district today. At the fair, the Chief Minister distributed financial assistance worth Rs. 14 crore 60 lakh. He also inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 61 development works costing about Rs. 42 crore.
The Chief Minister said that agriculture is the mainstay of Madhya Pradesh’s economy and therefore, intensive efforts are being made by the State Government to make agriculture profitable. Farmers are being provided agricultural loans at zero percent interest rate and adequate power. They are being provided best prices for their produce. Farmers have been given facility to pay electricity bills only twice a year at the flat rate of Rs. 1200 per horsepower. Irrigation has been increased from 7.50 lakh hectare to 25 lakh hectare. Power generation capacity has also been increased from 2900 MW to 10 thousand 600 MW.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister made a number of announcements. He announced construction of a 2-lane road in Gwalior vie Behat. It will cost about Rs. 200 crore.
Member of Parliament Shri Narendra Singh Tomar said that the State Government is also promoting literature and music. Music Univeristy has been set up at Gwalior. In the series, statue of Sangeet Samrat Tansen has been unveiled at his birthplace at Behat today. Rajya Sabha MP Shri Prabhat Jha lauded State Government’s efforts for betterment of weaker and needy people. Rajya Sabha MP Smt. Maya Singh and Medical Education Minister Shri Anoop Mishra also threw light on State Government’s development and welfare works in detail.
Minister of State for Home Shri Narayan Singh Kushwaha, Samanya Varg Nirdhan Kalya Ayog Chairman Shri Balendu Shukla, SADA Chairman Shri Jai Singh Kushwaha, Gwalior Development Authority Chairman Shri Ravindra Singh Rajput and other public representatives were also present on the occasion.
