Madhya Pradesh received national award in Tirupati for innovation in health

Bhopal. The innovations in health in Madhya Pradesh were appreciated and awarded in Good Practices Summit held in Tirupati by Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Madhya Pradesh has been ranked third in the county for citizens’ lowest expenditure in services of delivery. Union Health Minister Shri JP Nadda and Union Minister of State for Health Shri Faggan Singh Kulaste presented the trophy and the certificate to principal secretary Smt. Gauri Singh and Mission Director, National Health Mission Shri V. Kiran Gopal. The annual summit being organised by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is taking place between August 29 to 31in Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh)

Four innovation selected from State

Four innovations from Madhya Pradesh were selected for presentation in the summit. They include cancer care model, e-vaccination monitoring system, performance based assessment of employees and officers and base-line survey of health institutions and facilities under National Urban Health Mission. Cancer treatment was known to be the subject of super-specialty hospital. However, the treatment was made available in each district hospitals by providing facilities and training as per the protocol in Madhya Pradesh. Similarly, cold chain and monitoring mechanism was developed under e-vaccination monitoring system. Performance based assessment system was developed for officers in NHM. They were provided extension in services after annual assessment of their skills and performance. It improved services. Base-line survey of health institutions and facilities was conducted under National Urban Health Mission and it led to easy availability and better management of health services and facilities. The innovations were appreciated at national level.

Poster presentation praised

Child health service delivery model, woman health camps, and the system established for PPIUCD insertion in Madhya Pradesh were selected for poster presentations in the summit. Sick infant babies are provided treatment on priority according to seriousness of the disease under child health service delivery model in the state.  All women were provided facility of annual check-up through woman health camps. The facility and environment made under IUCD insertion after delivery under family welfare programme, was considered exemplary at national level. Programme officers of related innovations Dr Archana Mishra, Dr Rajshri Bajaj, Dr Prabhakar Tiwari and Vipin Shrivastava were present in the summit.
