Madhya Pradesh government launches mobile app for farmers

Bhopal: Farmers in Madhya Pradesh can now claim damages for crops, seek guidance and register themselves for various welfare schemes through a mobile application, which was launched here on Tuesday by the state government.
Addressing a press conference,  Minister for Revenue, Science and Technology Umashankar Gupta also said the state government had sorted out 12 lakh revenue-related cases in the last few months.
The BJP government had last year launched “Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana” – a direct benefit transfer scheme–for farmers in the wake of the widescale protests by the agriculturists seeking better prices for crops.
“Now, the farmers can make self-declaration about the crops they have sowed, so they can get proper compensation in case of damage caused to crops. Farmers can also avail copies of maps of land owned by them,” the minister said, adding that all information related to the land of the farmers would also be available on the app.
The minister listed various features of the mobile application during the interaction with reporters.
“The farmers can apply through this app for availing land documents. They can also register themselves for various government schemes like e-uparjan, Bhavantar, crop insurance etc,” Gutpa said.
He recalled mRCMS mobile application launched in the past by the state Revenue department.
That application was associated with Revenue Court Management System (RCMS) to provide information related to revenue disputes, said the minister.
Responding to a query, he said the state government has sorted out 12 lakh revenue-related cases in the last few months.
“No revenue case is pending now, except those which are in dispute. The officials sorted out the revenue cases within 30 days of submission of an application,” he added.
Madhya Pradesh is going to polls later this year along with Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.
