Landmine Blast Kills Four in CG

Four people were killed as a landmine explosion on a national highway in the Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh’s volatile Bastar region blew a truck to smithereens on Sunday.

Ostensibly vehicle owners and daily wagers. The victims, whose bodies were ripped to pieces by the impact, are yet to be identified, said media reports.

The attack came even as the state remains on a security alert to ward off strikes from the outlawed Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) that is marking the anniversary of its military wing the People’s Liberation Guerilla Army (PLGA) this week (Dec 2-8).
