IT Dept Cracks down on Pvt Educational Institutes; Raids in 5 Cities
The Income Tax Department has conducted raids in the premises of private educational institutes in five cities across the state.
At the time of report coming from highly placed sources, the raids were being carried out at People’s College, RKDF Group of Institutes, Globus and LNCT College.
Official sources said that forty premises of these institutes located in Bhopal, Mumbai, Delhi, Rewa and Jabalpur were covered under the IT Department’s operation being conducted by a team of around 350-400 employees.
The IT department also sought support of the local police in carrying out the raids, the sources said.
They said that under the raid, an official of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly associated with one of the institutions was also covered.
The magnitude of transactions made by these institutions did not match with the IT returns filed by them following which raids were carried out, the sources added.
