Inter-state check posts being equipped with modern facilities

Bhopal: Chief Secretary Shri R. Parasuram has said that inter-state check posts in Madhya Pradesh are being equipped with modern facilities. This will lead to increase in revenue receipts and benefit transporters also since checking will take less time. Shri Parasuram was inspecting integrated check post at Balasamund in Barwani district today. He said that such check posts are only in selected states. Similarly, check posts are also being constructed in the border areas of other states adjoining Madhya Pradesh.
Shri Parasuram inspected 18 checking booths at the integrated check post on Agra-Bombay Road and also took stock of their functioning. He also witnessed system to weigh passing trucks and realise duty from them accordingly. He also elicited necessary information from officers. The Chief Secretary also went round new guest house constructed at integrated check post, general dormitory, godown, electric panel room, Sulabh Complex etc.
It is noteworthy that check posts of Mandi Board, Transport, Mineral Resources Development, Forest and Commercial Taxes departments have been set up at the integrated check post constructed at a cost of Rs. 90 crore. This has reduced time taken in checking of goods in transit. Jam of vehicles also does not occur now.
The Chief Secretary also planted a sapling of Ashoka species in a garden developed near the check post.
Additional Chief Secretary Food, Civil Supplies and Transport Shri Antony J.C. De’sa, Principal Secretary Energy Shri Mohammad Sulaiman, Madhya Pradesh State Road Development Corporation Managing Director Shri Vivek Agrawal, Commissioner Indore Division Shri Sanjay Dube, DIG Indore Range Shri Vipin Maheshwari, Commissioner Commercial Taxes Sri Amit Rathore and other officers were present on the occasion.
